London’s Grand Ball 2024 was held on Friday evening at One Great George Street in London. In celebration of the Prestigious Star Awards, 25 outstanding venues and suppliers from around the globe were announced as winners. Winning venues included the National Maritime Museum (UK), Lujo Hotel Bodrum (Turkey), W Algarve (Portugal), Royal Mansour Marrakech (Morocco), and Hôtel Royal Savoy Lausanne (Switzerland), among others. The event, held in grand black-tie style, honoured excellence in hospitality and embraced the timeless tradition of ballroom dancing with a graceful performance of Johann Strauss’s enchanting Blue Danube Waltz, by Urban Soul Orchestra and a Ballroom dance class with City Academy. Another of the evening’s highlights was the ‘Best Events’ segment, which showcased extraordinary events. Three remarkable finalists were chosen from a pool of exceptional submissions. The ultimate winner was determined through a live audience vote on the night, with Pine Cliffs Resort in Portugal securing a resounding victory to claim the coveted ‘Best Event’ trophy. This program not only celebrates the quality, performance, and prestige of the world’s finest venues capable of hosting unforgettable events but also stands as the sole global luxury venue awards program of its kind.
London’s Grand Ball 2024 and Prestigious Star Awards ceremony was held at One Great George Street on Friday, March 15th, in London. Selected from a comprehensive shortlist of over 2,000 global venues, 200 nominees vied for recognition, with only 25 emerging triumphant. These nominees underwent rigorous scrutiny as event bookers cast their votes in July, leading to the selection of three finalists in each category. The deserving winners were chosen after a meticulous evaluation by Prestigious Venues global ambassadors, venue specialists, and event planners in August.
The awards ceremony on March 15th brought together 140 distinguished individuals from the Prestigious Venues network. Among the attendees were senior representatives from leading international venues, esteemed corporate partners, prestigious event suppliers, and VIP clients. This illustrious black-tie evening featured enchanting musical performances by Urban Soul Orchestra, captivating sleight of hand magic by Sky Magician, dazzling show performers by Scarlett Entertainment, and an engaging ballroom dance class led by City Academy. Guests were treated to extravagant prizes and impeccable hospitality from One Great George Street throughout the evening.
A highlight of the event was the revival of the old-world tradition of ballroom dancing, set to the enchanting Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss. Orchestrated by City Academy, this segment of the awards ceremony allowed guests to experience ballroom dance in the majestic setting of the Great Hall. WHAT IT IS
Now in their 14th year, the Prestigious Star Awards celebrate outstanding performance among the world’s best venues and event suppliers.
HOW IT WORKS
Nominations are open from April to November every year. During the voting period in October and November, event bookers from across the globe are invited to cast their votes to determine the three finalists in each category – announced each year in January. Once voting ends, a panel of Prestigious Venues ambassadors then vote for the winners based on their performance over the previous 12-month period.
